Regional Corridor Alliance West
Commissioner
Charles Camp held an initial meeting on May 30, 2009 of the
Regional Corridor Alliance - West (RCA-West). He shall chair and
be joined by PA State Representative Rob Matzie of the 16th District as
his Co-Chair. Together they addressed an audience of
leaders/stake holders from state and local government, business,
transportation, education and economic development to join
together and see that the Freedom Road upgrade project is designed,
funded and finally completed as soon as possible.
This
corridor will enhance supplemental development generated by the
arrival of Westinghouse and other commerce in the Route 228 corridor
and give easier access to industrial and warehouse infrastructure
already in place in Beaver County. Access to rivers and
affordable housing for the population growth that continues will be a
win-win for all.
This
page will contain specific information to inform of progress of what
started as the Crows Run project over 50 years ago to The Freedom Road
Upgrade Project - all three phases from Route 65 to the Butler County
line.
The
first goal of the RCA West will be to see that the right of way
property purchases begin immediately. Updates will be
communicated as they occur.
